Brooklyn Beckham has spoken publicly about his strained relationship with his parents, revealing that he was not invited to his father’s 50th birthday party and alleging long-standing emotional pressure tied to public image and brand expectations.
In a candid statement, Brooklyn said his family prioritizes publicity and endorsements above personal relationships, describing what he referred to as “Brand Beckham” taking precedence over genuine family connection.
Claims of Pressure and Control
Brooklyn stated that expressions of family “love” were often measured by social media activity and public appearances rather than private support.
“My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first,” he said.
“Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opportunity — even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.”
He also addressed ongoing speculation that his wife controls his decisions, strongly denying the claim.
“The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards,” Brooklyn said.
“I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life.”
Mental Health and Personal Peace
Brooklyn revealed that he struggled with overwhelming anxiety growing up and said stepping away from his family environment has significantly improved his mental health.
“For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared,” he said.
“I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose and have found peace and relief.”
He emphasized that he and his wife are seeking a life away from public pressure.
“My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press or manipulation,” he said.
“All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”
Career Background
Brooklyn Beckham has explored several creative ventures over the years. He released a photography book titled What I See in 2017 and later moved into cooking, launching his hot sauce brand Cloud23 in 2024. He has also shared cooking videos regularly on social media platforms.
Ongoing Public Interest
The comments have sparked widespread discussion online, with many debating family boundaries, fame, and the pressures faced by children of high-profile public figures. No response has yet been made publicly by other members of the Beckham family regarding Brooklyn’s remarks.
